Sadat City Language School representing Egypt at Volvo Adventure
Egypt’s team include the Sadat City Language School students Ahmed Abdel Ghaffar, Ahmed Meragea, Maysara Bekhit, Omar Abdel Wahab and Zeyad Kandil. The students are accompanied by Racquel Abundo (team leader and school principal) as well as Abdel Hamid Badr (team leader and school teacher). The Swedish hosts for team Egypt are Hanna Wallstr?¶m and Stina Markgren.
The Volvo Adventure program is in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) to promote environmental friendly awareness among the youth. This is the second consecutive year that a high school from the MENA region is selected as a finalist for their environmental projects.
Team members aged 13-16 from all around the world have submitted ideas they have implemented in their local communities via the Volvo Adventure online site. Judges will shortlist the finalist teams, where a cash prize will be presented to first, second, and third place teams in Sweden.
Volvo Adventure is a global education and award program for the younger generation. The jury consists of representatives from UNEP, World Wildlife Fund, World Scouting Organization, UNESCO, Volvo Car Corporation

We look forward to awarding the top winners in Sweden this summer.�
Sadat City Language School submitted the “Save Light, Save Earth� project that is aimed at conserving electricity and decreasing the costs of making specialized frames around lamps to reflect light onto a larger area. Last year, a finalist team from Oman was invited to Sweden for their youth-led project encouraging a change of attitude in the community to preserve the natural environment.
Volvo Cars was recognized as the most sustainable car brand in March 2011, a survey of 151 companies based on consumer perspective undertaken by IDG Research, Relation Capital Partners AB and Novus Group International. The award ceremony is taking place on Tuesday evening (05.06.2012) and we wish Team Egypt all the best as they are the only team representing North Africa and the Middle East at this creative and inspiring event.
